We are in the middle of a remarkable political season. Our two outstanding candidates for president, coupled with a deep and abiding desire to end the high crimes and misdemeanors of the current administration has created the strongest interest in politics that I have ever witnessed. Come to the LD Caucus on April 5th, make your voice heard, and get involved in taking back America!
We have two items of business: (1) Electing delegates to the Congressional District Caucus and the State Democratic Convention and (2) the consideration of a 36th District Democrats Platform and resolutions. We will also hear brief but rousing speeches by elected officials and candidates for office.
At the LD Caucus, we will be electing 67 delegates and 33 alternates. These delegates and alternates will be assigned to presidential candidates according to how the number of delegates to this convention sign in. If you are a delegate and are unable to attend the LD Caucus on April 5, please contact me.
Also at the LD Caucus, we will consider a platform and resolutions. Our Issues Committee took all resolutions that were submitted at the Precinct Caucuses on February 9 and has put together an inspirational, thoughtful, and comprehensive proposed platform to be considered by you, the delegates to the LD Caucus on April 5. We anticipate lively and informative discussions of the proposed platform.
Enclosed you will find the agenda and rules which will give you a better idea of the process and what will happen on April 5. Also contained herein, please find a brief narrative description of the day’s events.
