Help Democrats Win the Senate!

Click Here to Jump to the RSVP Form!

For four years, Republicans in the State Senate have blocked progressive policy and new revenue needed to fund education.  We need all hands on deck to help Democrats win the Senate!  The 36th has adopted Lisa Wellman, a fantastic candidate for State Senate in the 41st legislative district.  Here are two ways you can help:

Volunteers from the 36th helped the Wellman campaign beat their doorbelling goals in August.

Doorbelling for Lisa Wellman!

Democrat Lisa Wellman is running against Republican Sen. Steve Litzow in the 41st Legislative District (roughly Mercer Island to Issaquah). It’s a close race which could determine which party controls the State Senate. We need your help to knock on doors to remind Democratic voters to mail in their ballots!

The 36th is organizing carpools to the 41st on four weekend days before election day:

Saturday, September 24th
Sunday, October 9th
Saturday, October 22nd
Sunday, November 6th

Here is the schedule each of these days:

10:00 – 10:30 Meet at Ballard High School parking lot (NW 67th St., just east of 15th Ave NW), sort into cars of 3-4 people each to carpool to Redmond.
11:00 Arrive in the 41st. Receive training, maps, walk lists, and materials. The campaign will provide snacks, but be sure to eat a big breakfast prior!
11:30 – 2:00 The same cars of 3-4 people will travel to residential areas to knock on doors.
2:30 Return materials to the campaign.
3:00 Return to Ballard HS.

For our doorbelling to be successful, we need happy wheels demo some volunteers for the following additional tasks:

Materials in hand, 36th volunteers prepare to knock on doors in Sammamish.

Driver: We need doorbellers who are Willing to drive their own vehicle with up to 3 additional passengers throughout the day, from Ballard HS to Campaign HQ to the doorbelling location and back. Drivers may ask their passengers to chip in for transportation costs as they feel is appropriate.

Navigator: We need volunteers who have a smart phone with mapping software and feel comfortable navigating unfamiliar streets to find residential addresses.

Phonebanking Swing District Voters!

It’s hard for Democrats in the 36th to get over to the 41st every day, so we’ll also reach voters by phone!  Alice Woldt, 36th PCO, will host weekly phonebanks at her home on Tuesday evenings before election day:

36th volunteers call voters in swing districts in 2014.

Phonebanks to Swing District Voters!

6:00 – 8:30 PM
